The first comprehensive monograph on one of the most well-known Latvian landscape painters Arijs Skride.
The painter who belonged to the so-called "Purvītis School" in September 2006 would have celebrated his 100th anniversary. His creative output was unusually prolific, especially concerning his favourite theme – Latvian country landscape. Yet, the author of the monograph, young art historian Ansis Vasks, makes proof to Skride's mastery also in painting cityscapes and marines. The album is richly illustrated by reproductions of Arijs Skride's most well-known paintings.
