The book by Latvian painter Kārlis Neilis creates a sparkling and joyful impression of the Latvian art life of the 1920s-1930s. At the end of the 2nd World War the artist went into exile and till the end of his life lived in Salzburg, Austria.

The book was first published in the USA in 1986. This is the second edition with the afterword written by the author especially for the readers of his fatherland shortly before his death in 1991.
