Compiler Kristiāna Ābele

A collection of articles based on 14 papers presented at the 7th Boris Vipper Readings (1999). Each of the articles is devoted to a particular close-up of Latvia’s art, architecture or art theory. The time boundaries of the themes included in the collection reach from 3rd millenium BC up to the 1970s. The authors focus on sculpture, icons, memorial paintings, journal design, politically engaged commisions, art theory treatises, etc.
